As a counselor, my role is helping you define what you want to accomplish during our sessions and teaching strategies for reaching these goals. I seek to create a safe, trusting, and open environment in our sessions. I work from a variety of therapy models (cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, solution focused, grief therapy, and others) combined with ideas of compassion and open communication to individualize our work together. If you would like to learn more about my approach, counseling sessions, and how I can help you, please contact me by phone at (206) 226-1097 or by e-mail at BalanceMaintains@gmail.com.
I provide counseling for both individuals and couples. One-on-one sessions are 60 minutes while couple sessions are 90 minutes long. Our first session is dedicated to an assessment of understanding what you want from counseling and learning about your unique needs and wants. I meet with most clients on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis for various durations of time, depending on the client and their concerns. Please visit my Couples page to learn more about couples counseling, or visit my Services page to learn more about some of the more common topics on which I work with clients.
Meeting in a group can bring about the collective support and insight of others coping with similar issues. Group sessions typically last between 45 to 90 minutes. Please visit my Groups page to learn more about the types of groups I currently provide. My newest group will deal with Stress Management and Relaxation.
While I encourage clients to meet in person, I do offer phone sessions to those who are unable to visit my downtown Seattle office. Phone sessions are similar to one-on-one sessions, with the first session dedicated to an assessment learning about you and determining what you would like to accomplish through counseling. Please visit my Contact page if you would like to discuss setting up a phone session.
