Often times we find ourselves in the role of caring for others. This can be caring for a child, caring for our aging parent or other close family member. We can be a caregiver as a family member, friend, or occupation. Some of us provide emotional caregiving, while others provide physical care. No matter what kind of caregiver you are, the important piece that can often be left out of caregiving is finding time to take care of ourselves. Many caregivers struggle with depression, guilt, or loneliness, as a result of constantly giving of themselves to others.
While individual counseling for caregivers can be extremely helpful, caregivers can often not find the time to get away from their caregiving duties to care for themselves. Please visit some of these resources that can also provide support for you until you are able to see the help of a counselor.
