Anxiety is an overwhelming emotional and physical reaction to something happening to you or around you in the past or present. Phobias are fears of a particular cirumstance or stimulus, causing you to again have a negative and overwhelming emotional and physical reaction. Some individuals worry about the unknown or circumstances beyond their control. Many others fear heights, flying, spiders, snakes, close spaces, or socialization.
Each of us feels afraid or worried from time to time, but sometimes anxiety or phobias can become overwhelming and interfere with your every day life. During counseling, I work with individuals to help them understand the roots of their anxiety and fears. I then teach them useful strategies including creative visualization, relaxation, breathing, and mindfulness for managing these anxieties and fears from day to day.

Anxiety, Worry, and Fear Support Group
I facilitate eight-week bi-monthly sessions for managing your anxieties and worries. It can be extremely useful to discuss your own anxiety with others with similar concerns and together learn useful strategies for managing when not in the group.
